This book was written as a companion to Flowers of the Caribbean, by the same two authors. Inevitably, there must be some overlap between the two books but, in this volume, the authors have limit their writing and attempted to help the casual visitor or tourist to the Caribbean identify only the more common and interesting trees likely to be encountered during a short stay in the islands.
The text is divided into four main areas: Ornamental Trees, Fruit Trees, Coastal Trees and Palms and Palm-like forms. Each species is illustrated with at least one colour photograph (in many cases more then one is used) and detailed information is given about leaf shape, leaf size and colour, together with descriptions of the specific flowers and fruits.
