Fruits and Vegetables of the Caribbean: MJ Bourne. GW Lennox, SA Seddon
Brief Description
Fruits and vegetables of the Caribbean is a response to frequent requests for a handy, illustrated identification guide to the most commonly found species. It describes their origins, botanical characteristics, and uses- often surprising and unusual- and lists alternative names, which might otherwise cause confusion and misunderstanding.
This book was written as a companion to Flowers of the Caribbean, by the same two authors. Inevitably, there must be some overlap between the two books but, in this volume, the authors have limit their writing and attempted to help the casual visitor or tourist to the Caribbean identify only the more common and interesting trees likely to be encountered during a short stay in the islands.
The main purpose of this book is to provide the keen diver and snorkeller with an introduction to some of the more interesting and spectacular fish which can be seen around the Caribbean and the Tropical West Atlantic Reefs. It should also be of interest to those who maintain marine aquaria, as many of the smaller species covered are quite suitable for the average home aquarium.
